Mariano Rincon received his Ph.D. degree in 2003 from the Department of Artificial Intelligence at UNED (Spain), where currently holds the position of Associate Professor. His research lies primarily within the fields of knowledge modelling and automatic image understanding. He has worked on a variety of projects dealing with different levels of computer vision problems for medical and surveillance applications. Some of his central research topics include, but are not limited to, image and video understanding, activity recognition, knowledge modelling in computer vision systems, neuroimage analysis, medical image analysis, information visualization, data mining, computational aesthetics, etc.
