Short Biography

Currently, I'm an Associate Professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence in the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Spain, where I perform tasks of teaching and research. I received my Ph.D. in Physics (2003) from the UNED and my degree in Electronic Engineering (1996) from the University of Granada (Spain).

Research

My research interests are in evolutionary computing, machine learning and artificial vision. Currently, my research focuses on the study of the applicability of evolutionary algorithms in different domains (segmentation of biological structures in medical imaging, automatic design of electronic circuits, solving differential equations).
